From the Scombridae family, both species belongs to the genus Thunnus, while Yellowfin tuna (Thunnus Albacares) belongs to the subgenus Neothunnus, the White Tuna popularly known as Bonito or Albacore (Thunnus Alalunga) belongs to the subgenus Thunnus. These warm-blooded fishes are strong swimmers even in the coolest waters, with metallic and silver colors and are well known and consumed all over the world either as sushi or sashimi, fillets or canned.

Their health benefits include reducing cardiovascular diseases, boosting immune system and protects skin and kidneys against infections due to the impressive content of omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin B12,B6, niacin, riboflavin, minerals, antioxidants and proteins.
